Up to a minute. Pause, restart a sentence, correct yourself: that's fine.

  3. 3

    Copy clean text

Punctuation and capitals added, filler words removed, ready to paste anywhere.

  • Punctuation included

Periods, commas, question marks and capital letters, without saying them out loud.

  • Filler words removed

Um, uh, you know and false starts are cleaned up, and the correction you meant is kept.

  • 19 languages

English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Hindi, Arabic and more.

  • Recordings not kept

Audio streams to speech recognition and is gone once your text is back.

Voice typing online that writes like you mean it

Most voice typing tools write exactly what they hear, so you get every um, every restart and no punctuation. This free online dictation tool uses the same speech recognition as the Voicera app: it adds punctuation, removes filler words and keeps the correction you meant when you change your mind mid sentence.

It is a fast way to draft an email, a message, notes or the first version of a document. Speak for up to a minute, then copy the text.

Polish it after you speak

Your text can go straight into the AI text rewriter to make it professional or casual, the grammar checker for a final check, or the text translator to turn it into another language.

Doing this all day? Voicera for Mac does it in one step, in every app: you speak and the finished text appears at your cursor.

Voicera is an AI writing assistant for Mac that turns your voice into finished writing and fixes, rewrites and translates text in any app. See plans and pricing, or browse all free writing tools.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this speech to text converter really free?

Yes. There is no account, no email and no card. Paste your text and get the result on this page. Each visitor can run a handful of checks a minute, which is plenty for normal use.

Does it add punctuation automatically?

Yes. You talk normally and the text comes back with periods, commas, question marks and capital letters. You don't need to say "comma" or "period".

Does it remove filler words?

Yes. Um, uh and false starts are removed, and when you correct yourself ("Tuesday, no, Wednesday") it keeps what you meant.

How long can I record?

Up to one minute per recording, then it stops on its own. Record again as many times as you need, a few times a minute.

Which languages does it understand?

19: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Hindi, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Urdu and Chinese. Pick yours before you start.

Do you keep my recording?

No. Audio streams through the Voicera API to speech recognition and is gone once your text is back. Neither the audio nor the text is stored.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, on iPhone, Android and computers. Your browser asks for microphone access the first time.

How can I dictate in any app, without copying and pasting?

Use Voicera for Mac. Select text in Mail, Slack, Google Docs or any other app, press Fn + Shift and pick a Quick Action: the result shows as a preview and replaces your text only when you click Insert. You can also dictate with Fn and get clean, punctuated text at your cursor. It is free to start.
