Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026
These terms cover the Voicera app, the Voicera API it talks to, and voicera.app (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, using the Service or paying for a plan, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you use Voicera for an organisation, you accept these terms on its behalf and confirm you may do so.
Who runs Voicera
Voicera is made and run by Tony Manh, an independent developer based in Japan (“we”, “us”). Reach us at hello@voicera.app or @tonymanh_ on X.
The Service
Voicera turns speech into text at your cursor, edits text you select with Quick Actions, and answers spoken questions. It needs a Mac running macOS 15 or later, an internet connection, and the Microphone, Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions. We keep improving Voicera, so features, AI models and providers may change.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google, and you must be at least 13 (16 in the European Economic Area). Keep your sign in secure: you are responsible for what happens on your account. A subscription belongs to the account and works on every Mac you sign in to.
Plans and billing
- Plans. Voicera has a free plan and paid plans. What each includes and what it costs are shown in the pricing section and in the app before you pay.
- Words. A word counts when Voicera writes it for you: dictated text and the text of Quick Action and Ask results. Your spoken instructions don’t count. Weeks start on Monday at 00:00 UTC. When you reach your weekly words, dictation, Quick Actions and Ask pause until the next Monday or until you upgrade.
- Free. Needs no payment method and has no end date. If we change what Free includes, we will say so here and in the app first.
- Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. If the price changes, we tell you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice.
- Changing plans. An upgrade applies at once and credits what you already paid for the current period. A downgrade applies at your next renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in the app: Settings, Plan & billing, Manage billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, and it isn’t renewed.
- Failed payments. If a renewal can’t be charged, your account moves to Free until the payment method is updated, then your plan comes back.
- Payments. Dodo Payments is the merchant of record: it sells you the subscription, takes the payment, sends invoices and handles sales tax or VAT. Its terms of sale also apply to your purchase.
Refunds
- Within 14 days of a charge, including your first charge and a renewal, you can ask for a refund of the part of that period you haven’t used, counted in days. For example, if you ask 10 days into a 30 day month, you get back 20/30 of that charge. Your plan ends when the refund is issued and your account moves to Free.
- After 14 days, a charge isn’t refundable, but you can cancel so you aren’t charged again.
- Charged by mistake, for example twice, or after you cancelled: we refund the whole charge, whenever you tell us.
- If we stop offering Voicera, we refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
To ask for a refund, email hello@voicera.app from the address on your Voicera account, with the order number from your receipt. Refunds go back to the original payment method and can take 5 to 10 business days to show. If the law where you live gives you more, such as a right to withdraw from the purchase, you keep that right.
Your content
Your speech, the text you select and the results Voicera writes for you are yours. You let us process them only to provide the Service, as the Privacy Policy describes. We don’t use your content to train AI models.
AI results
Transcriptions and AI results can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. Quick Actions show a preview and change your text only when you choose Insert, and you are responsible for what you send or publish. Don’t rely on Voicera for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- use Voicera to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- record people without the consent the law requires where you are;
- create harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative or deceptive content, or spam;
- share your account, resell the Service, or get around its limits, for example by automating requests or calling the API outside the app;
- probe, overload or disrupt the Service, or try to reach other people’s data;
- use the Service to build a competing product or to train AI models.
The app
While your account is in good standing, you may install and use the Voicera app on Macs you own or control, for yourself. The licence is personal and can’t be transferred. Don’t copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it anyway. Voicera, the app and its name and logo remain ours.
Availability
We work to keep Voicera fast and available, but it relies on the internet and on other providers, and may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We don’t promise any particular uptime.
Ending
You can stop using Voicera at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where the law requires it, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
Disclaimer
As far as the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business, and our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, email us first and we will try to sort it out with you. Nothing in these terms takes away the consumer protections you have under the law where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for a significant change, tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it applies. If you don’t accept a change, cancel before it takes effect; continuing to use Voicera after that means you accept it.
General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part right away doesn’t mean we give it up.
